Which Wordle alternative fits your plans?

Choose NYT Wordle if you want the familiar daily five-letter puzzle and enjoy comparing results afterward. Everyone can discuss the same daily challenge, but sharing a score is not the same as a live private match.

Choose Quordle if solving one board at a time feels too simple. Its central challenge is working across four words with shared guesses. That adds puzzle complexity; it is not a shared-board cooperative room.

Consider Squabble for competitive word guessing. Its official site currently labels the game beta and warns that mobile support is not available. Check its current lobby and rules on a larger screen before planning a phone-only game night.

Choose Wordzilla if your main requirement is inviting a specific friend into a live 1v1 or shared-board Co-op session. Choose its Party Mode for a group with a shared screen. The host needs an account, both players need a connection, and the word lists are limited to seven playable languages.

What a private live match looks like

The screenshot shows Wordzilla's 1v1 format: you guess on your own board while following your opponent's progress. The result is decided by guesses, with time breaking ties. For a less competitive session, switch to taking turns in Co-op rather than playing on two boards.

No single format is best for every player. If your priority is an official daily NYT puzzle, stay with Wordle. If your priority is spending time with a friend in a private live game, that is the problem Wordzilla is designed to solve.
