Challenge a friend to a real-time, two-player word game. In Race Mode, you each solve the same hidden word on separate boards. Fewer guesses wins, with time breaking ties. Prefer to work together? Switch to Co-op and alternate turns on a shared board, using live chat to discuss your next guess.

Two-player Wordle rules: guesses first, time second
Both players receive the same hidden word, but make guesses on separate boards. Your opponent's tile pattern updates live without revealing their letters. A solved word in fewer guesses wins; time breaks a tie when the guess counts match.
For example, solving in three guesses beats solving in four, even if the four-guess player finishes first. When both players solve in four, the faster solve wins. That makes a careful information-gathering guess useful: rushing is not the only strategy.
Set up your first 1v1 match
One player signs in, opens Play Together, and creates a competitive invitation. Send the invitation to your opponent, who can join as a guest. You both play in your browser, with no download.
Choose a shared challenge
Pick the language and word length together. Wordzilla supports words from 4 to 11 letters; five letters is a familiar starting point.
Read the feedback
Use the letter-position clues from each guess to narrow the answer. Your opponent's progress is visible, but their guessed letters stay private.
Compare the result
After the match, review the score breakdown and highlights. Compare your approaches before starting another challenge.
Competitive 1v1 or cooperative solving?
Pick 1v1 when you want separate boards and a winner. Choose Co-op when you want to discuss the clues and take turns on a single board with six shared guesses. Co-op is a different format, not a way to see an opponent's secret letters.
Looking for more than two players? Party Mode is the group format. Do not create a two-player invitation expecting it to become a large public room.
